Using the Dashboard
The Dashboard is designed to show you exactly what needs attention today.
- Today's Sessions: Shows study blocks scheduled for the current date. Click "+" to add one quickly.
- Upcoming Exams: Lists exams happening within the next 7 days.
- Quick Actions: Use the buttons on each card to add Tasks or Goals instantly.
- Study Streak: Keeps track of consecutive days you've marked sessions as "Completed".
Calendar & Scheduling
Navigate to the Calendar tab to manage your long-term schedule.
- Adding Sessions: Click Add Session button on top right to open the "Add New Session" modal.
- Repeating Sessions: When creating a session, choose "Daily", "Weekly", or "Custom" to auto-fill your calendar.
- Editing: Click on an existing event bar to view details, mark it as Complete, or Delete it.
- Exams: Exams appear as distinct red badges to differentiate them from regular study sessions.
Tasks vs. Goals
Understanding the difference helps you plan better:
- Tasks: Small, actionable items (e.g., "Read Chapter 4", "Submit Assignment"). These have checkboxes and due dates.
- Goals: Long-term active targets (e.g., "Study Math for 50 Hours"). These track progress over time based on your completed sessions.
Data Management & Settings
You have full control over your data in the Settings tab.
- Profile: Set your name and level for a personalized experience.
- Export Data: Download a JSON file backup of all your work.
- Import Data: Restore from a backup file (useful when switching browsers).
- Reset: "Reset to Default" gives you sample data to explore. "Clear All" wipes the slate clean.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in your browser's Local Storage. Nothing is sent to any external server. This ensures 100% privacy but means you must use the "Export" feature if you want to move your data to another computer.
Can I use this app offline?
Yes! Once the page is loaded, it works entirely offline. You can even install it as a PWA (App) on your phone or desktop for an app-like experience without internet.
Why aren't my charts updating?
Charts should update automatically when you complete a session or task. If they seem stuck, try refreshing the page. Ensure you are marking sessions as "Completed" for them to appear in history/analytics.
How do I delete an item?
Click on the item (Task, Session, or Goal card) to see its details. You will find a distinct Delete or Trash icon. You will be asked to confirm before permanent deletion.
