🌍 Comparative Insights — Core Methodology Differences
Standard WHO: Uses weight-to-height squared universally. Useful for broad population screening but doesn’t distinguish muscle from fat.
Advanced (Body Fat %): Uses high-accuracy body circumferences (Navy tape test). Evaluates actual physical adiposity, safeguarding muscular users against false high-fat classifications.
Asian WHO: Employs lowered clinical cutoffs (overweight at 23.0) because individuals of Asian heritage exhibit higher visceral fat accumulation and cardiovascular risk at lower BMI tiers.

🚀 About BMI Suite

Welcome to BMI Suite, a premium multi-faceted body composition, shape, and metabolic estimation toolkit. This tool goes far beyond basic weight-to-height formulas, utilizing advanced pediatric, visceral, and geriatric anthropometric algorithms to provide a holistic assessment of your physical state.

💡 How to Use & Pro-Tips

  • Select a Profile Mode: Click the sidebar navigation to switch profiles. Use Standard WHO for basic adult BMI, Advanced Circumference for high-accuracy Navy body fat calculations, or age/gender-specific profiles like Women 50+, Men 60+, and Pediatric CDC.
  • Adjust Measurement Sliders: Input your details cleanly. When in Imperial units, height is configured via integrated feet and inches sliders.
  • Waist, Neck & Hip Ratios: In circumference-based modes, provide accurate tape measurements. These unlock advanced shape metrics like WHR (Waist-to-Hip Ratio), WHtR (Waist-to-Height Ratio), BRI (Body Roundness Index), BAI, and the allometric ABSI score.
  • Track Trends & Download: Click the Save Session button (disk icon) in the header to save your current stats in local history and plot your progress in the dynamic BMI Trend graph at the bottom. Use the Export dropdown to directly download professional PDF reports, plain text summaries, or CSV spreadsheets.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts: Use quick shortcuts for faster control — R for Reset, S for Save Session, T for Theme toggle, H for Help, and Esc to close overlays or clear the sidebar search.

📊 Metric Cheat-Sheet

• WHR: Evaluates fat distribution (android vs. gynoid shape). Ratios > 0.90 (men) or > 0.85 (women) indicate higher metabolic risk.
• WHtR: Keep your waist circumference to less than half of your height (WHtR < 0.50) for optimal cardiovascular health.
• BMR & TDEE: BMR is your resting metabolic rate. TDEE includes daily movement. Your target caloric macro split is actively shown.
• Visceral Fat: Evaluates intra-abdominal fat. Try to maintain an index level < 9 to prevent cardiovascular strain.
• FFMI: Fat-Free Mass Index assesses muscle mass relative to height. > 20 is considered above average.
• BMI Sensitivity: Shows exactly how much weight (kg/lbs) corresponds to a 1 point shift in your BMI.
• BSA & BRI: Body Surface Area and Body Roundness Index are advanced allometric indicators of cardiovascular and metabolic shape.
